This Privacy Policy explains how KUMU Studio LLC ("Tafsir AI", "we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the tafsir-ai.online website (the "Service"), which provides AI-assisted dream interpretation drawing on classical Islamic sources. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
The Service is intended only for users aged 18 or older.
Information we collect
- Email address — you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. We use the address only to sign you in and, if needed, to answer you. We do not send marketing email.
- Dream content — the dream text and any answers to clarifying questions you submit, together with the interpretation we return. We treat dream content as private and sensitive.
- Usage records — the time of each interpretation and the IP address it came from, so we can count your interpretations and stop abuse, and your chosen language.
- Technical data — like any website, our hosting and backend providers receive your IP address and browser information when you connect. Your browser stores your sign-in session and language choice locally.
The website has no advertising, no tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics. There are no purchases on the website.

How AI interpretation works
Before signing in, you confirm that you have read this Policy, which explains that your dream is processed by AI providers; nothing is sent until you press the button. Your dream text is sent, through our servers, to our AI providers: Cohere generates an embedding to search our reference corpus, and Anthropic (the large-language-model provider) generates the interpretation. These providers process the text only to return a result and are contractually required to protect it. We do not use your dream content for advertising.
If you use voice input, speech is converted to text by your browser's own speech service (for example Google in Chrome or Apple in Safari) under that provider's privacy policy. We receive only the resulting text, never the audio.
Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to operate the Service, with providers required to protect it:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and backend hosting. Privacy Policy
- Anthropic — the AI model that generates interpretations. Privacy Policy
- Cohere — generates text embeddings used to search the reference corpus. Privacy Policy
- Resend — delivers the sign-in code email. Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare Turnstile — checks that interpretation requests come from a person, not a bot; it processes browser signals and your IP address. Privacy Policy
- Netlify — hosts the website. Privacy Policy
- jsDelivr — delivers the sign-in library the page loads. Privacy Policy
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, and in connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger or acquisition). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share dream content with advertisers.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law. You can delete any dream from your journal, and delete your account with all your dreams under Account → Delete account. You can also email kamil@kumu-studio.com from the address you sign in with to request deletion.
Your choices
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by contacting kamil@kumu-studio.com.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact kamil@kumu-studio.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The updated version is indicated by the "Last Updated" date and takes effect when posted. Please review it periodically.
